This week is Afternoon Tea Week!
Afternoon Tea was introduced in the 1840s by the seventh Duchess of Bedford to fill the long period between lunch and dinner. These days it’s more of an indulgent treat that is often reserved for birthdays and anniversaries! Afternoon tea has recently become rather trendy, with more and more hotels, restaurants and cafés offering it. But where better to experience it than in a luxurious five-star hotel made with local Scottish ingredients.
Here in Britain we consume over 165 million cups of tea a day. And there really isn’t a better way to enjoy it than with an indulgent afternoon tea with dainty pastries, delicate finger sandwiches and freshly baked cakes or scones. It’s also a great way to branch out and try aromatic green and fruit teas instead of the usual British breakfast tea. If it’s an extra special occasion, why not opt for Champagne Afternoon Tea and really treat yourself or a loved one.
Here at Vouch For That we are big fans of afternoon tea and want to share our favourite places to enjoy it!
