As this week is National Chocolate Week and National Dessert Day is this Friday we thought we would explore the desserts offered by Scotland’s most luxurious hotels. Inverlochy Castle Management International manages eight luxury hotels in Scotland including Cromlix, Crossbasket Castle, Greywalls Hotel, The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course, Inverlochy Castle, Rocpool Reserve and Inver Lodge. Chez Roux restaurants are situated in Cromlix, Greywalls Hotel, The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course, Rocpool Reserve and Inver Lodge and are overseen by Albert Roux. Chez Roux offers three-course dinner and lunch menus, afternoon tea as well as an A La Carte menu.
The desserts offered by these hotels are simply divine and will be enjoyed by foodies and dessert lovers alike. Sample menus are available on the hotels’ websites and you can expect exciting menu changes as the hotels endeavour to use the freshest and most local ingredients as possible.
Chocolate lovers can indulge in a Valrhona Chocolate Millionaire Tart with Baileys Ice-Cream, Chocolate and Basil Soufflé with Basil Granite or Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut Mousse with Rhubarb Compote.
Those who are dessert lovers but not so obsessed with chocolate can enjoy dishes such as, Albert Roux Classic Caramelised Lemon Tart, Honeycomb and Guinness Parfait with Caramel Liquid Gel and Perthshire Strawberry Soufflé with Strawberry Ice-Cream.
If you don’t have a sweet tooth the hotels also offer a selection of French and Scottish cheeses served with accompaniments such as homemade chutney.
Dining at these restaurants is a lot more than just a meal out – it’s an experience. For example, at Inverlochy Castle you can dine in one of the three dining rooms decorated with elaborate period furniture looking out onto stunning views of the Scottish Highlands, at Cromlix you can enjoy the private grounds and loch as well as sweeping views of the Perthshire countryside.
